In cases following the substantiated investigation of child abuse or neglect where the decision is made that children can be maintained safely in the home, ACFS will provide In Home Care services that focus on the safety and risk issues identified during the CPS investigation. Services are targeted to individual child and family needs. Among the typical services that are provided are crisis intervention, family counseling, parenting and other skills training, respite care, housing location assistance, child development, child day care and behavior management, along with concrete services such as emergency assistance for food, utilities, clothes, medicine and community-related resource referrals.
In Home Care is an intensive home-based program with a mandated minimum weekly face-to-face contact with the family.
